As a passionate climber of over 20 years, I understands how frustrating it is to be side lined by injury β and how important it is to have a clear plan for getting back to the climbing you love.
With experience across sport, trad, bouldering, Scottish winter and alpine climbing, I understand the demands of climbing from the inside out. My aim is to keep you climbing where possible while rehabilitating your injury, rebuilding your strength and helping you regain confidence in your body.
Climbing places unique demands on the body. High loads through the fingers, repetitive pulling, dynamic movement and complex body positions mean that climbing injuries can be specific, technical and sometimes difficult to understand without knowledge of the sport.
At Isi Booker Physio, climbing isn’t a niche add-on β it is one of our core clinical specialisms. Your injury is assessed in the context of how you climb, train and live, so that your rehabilitation is relevant to your goals rather than based on blanket rest.
Whether you boulder, sport climb, trad climb or compete, the aim is the same: to understand what’s causing your symptoms, build your capacity and help you return to climbing with confidence.
Good rehabilitation isn’t just about getting out of pain. It’s about understanding what your body can currently tolerate and progressively rebuilding the strength, movement and confidence you need for climbing.

My husband suffered with should pain for many years and had given up hope that physiotherapy could improve the situation. After sticking to Isiβs bespoke programme for a couple of months mobility has improved massively and heβs now pretty much pain free. Highly recommended.![]()

Fantastic experience with Isi. I've had recurrent knee subluxations for nearly 20 years, and despite years of physio and multiple surgeries, I still struggled with pain and instability every time I was in the hills. Isi gave me practical, activity-specific exercises and taping techniques that were perfectly tailored to my goals as a climber and trainee Mountain Leader. After just three months, my knee has never been more stable, and I passed my Mountain Leader assessment without a single wobble. I can't recommend Issi highly enough!![]()
